This high-energy folk-country album is the debut release from Ottawa indie-folk band Paug Lake Road, featuring 12 original pop-folk songs and one slamming country-folk standard, over bluegrass meets indie rock instrumentation. Fun ride.

This is Paug Lake Road's debut release, recorded over the course of one year at Sea Of Green Studios, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The album is 13 tracks, 12 original pop-country songs and one folk standard. Everything on the record was performed, recorded, produced and mixed by band members.

The record moves from electric indie-pop to acoustic folk-country and back throughout. There's lots of variety, so give it a listen all the way through to get a sense of the sound. It's a first release, and one hundred percent band-crafted so it has a definite indie feel, but it also includes great arrangements and songs and some wonderful one hundred percent folk moments. The band is clearly having a great time making this recording and it shows. Overall a very entertaining listen that stands up to multiple repeat listens.

CD covers are hand-stamped on 100% recycled pressed chip-board, just adding to the art-indie feel of the whole release. Cd includes brief liner notes and track listing, and the discs come stamped with a super cute tuque.

Recorded at Sea of Green Studios from Feb 2014 to Feb 2015. Matt Aston on drums; Sharon Coward on guitars, lead vocals; Max Ferderber on bass, hammond organ, slide guitar, clarinet, flute and backing vocals; Elizabeth Foster on fiddle and viola; Katie Hurdon on ukulele, melodica, xylophone, shakers, tambourine and backing vocals; Ingrid Lucey-Weinhold on banjo and backing vocals. All songs by Sharon Coward (except O Suzanna - by Stephen Foster) Arrangements include contributions from everyone. Recorded, mixed, edited and mastered by Max Ferderber. Produced mainly by wrangling between Sharon, Max and Katie. Cover Art by Carly Smith. Special thanks to Emma Prost, resident photographer, videographer and general helper in all things.
